Mastering Advices : how to enhance your stereo mix before mastering :
- Make sure that your mix is mono compatible (try mono monitoring while mixing)
- Compress slightly (or not at all) your mixdown
- Respect if possible the -18 or -15dB RMS rule for 0dB fullscale.
- For analog mixing, prefer 24bit recording.
- Never reach 0dB when recording or mixing down.
- Do not apply dithering during your mix export
- Do not suppress DC offset during mix export
- Do not (if possible) edit your mix before mastering. Possibly join a comment during
your file upload (comment field) indicating your preferences for fades in/out...etc
- Test your mix on various sound systems
- Remember a TV set won't play sounds below 100hz so make your bass audible above this limit.
After the mastering process, we could (if necessary) send you a report in order
to help you enhance your future mixes.
